Crafting and market

Gathering gives you raw materials. Crafting turns them into something better, and the market is where value changes hands.

Making things

Around town you will find crafting stations. Bring your materials and turn them into tools, gear, furniture, food and finery:

  • Ore becomes bars, and bars become tools and gear.
  • Wood becomes planks, and planks become furniture and tools.
  • Fabric becomes clothes, which also dress your character.
  • Produce and other ingredients become food and drink.
  • Gems become jewelry and other valuables.

Crafting is where most of the economy's value is created. A batch takes a little time, and you are free to walk away while it finishes. Your tools wear with use rather than breaking, so a little upkeep keeps them sharp.

Trading

Cozyville runs on a real, player-driven economy. Prices are not set by the town. They come from what players are willing to pay.

  • The player market. List your goods for sale, or browse what others have made. This is the heart of trade.
  • Direct trade and gifts. Meet a neighbor and swap goods face to face, or simply gift something to a friend.
  • Town vendors. A local shop buys and sells everyday staples, so nothing is ever truly worthless and you can always pick up the basics.

The town only ever provides a gentle floor and ceiling. The interesting prices, the ones that make a real market, come from the people who live here.
